Buhay Party-List is an organization that acknowledges the sanctity and value of human life as the most fundamental element of society and recognize the rights of individuals disadvantaged by age, sickness and disability. We implore the aid of the Divine Providence in order to advance their welfare, to the end that a just and humane society, defined by the truth, freedom, fairness, political stability, and due regard for human rights and dignity.

Cong. Jose L. Atienza, Jr. [CHAIRMAN]
Pro-life advocate since 1970s believing that human life is a precious gift from God and should always be defended, protected and nurtured.
He founded Mahal Ko si Lolo, Mahal Ko si Lola (MKLL) Foundation in 1976 which became the model for today’s Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA).
He is one of the founders of Buhay Hayaan Yumabong (BUHAY) Party and was also the Chairman of the Board of Pro-Life Philippines Foundation, Inc. since 1989, and was elected president from 1991-2002 and again in February 2009 during Pro-Life’s 14th National Convention.
Together with his wife Beng, they established Home for the Angels, a crisis home for abandoned babies and or almost aborted by their mothers. They provide counseling for mothers who are contemplating on giving up or aborting their unborn babies.

As a lawmaker, he is the Vice Chairperson of Committee of Revision of Laws (Journal 11) and Committee of Welfare of Children (Journal 11). He is also a member of Committee of Higher and Technical Education, Information and Communications Technology, Interparliamentary Relations and Diplomacy, Overseas Workers Affairs, Population and Family Relations, Science and Technology and Committee of Transportation.
He also authored/sponsored House Bills such as HB 03589 (College Scholarship for public high school valedictorians and salutatorians), HB 03821 (Extensions of free medical and dental assistance to indigent children), HB 03822 (Mandatory computer education to all schools), HB 05673 (Advancement of medical research and treatments on pediatric cancers) among others.

He passed laws such as RA 9640 (Lowering Amusement Tax from 30% to 10%), RA 9504 (Additional personal exemption for each dependent, from P 8,000 to P 25,000), RA 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Law) and RA 10088 (Anti-Camcording Law) as BUHAY Party-List representative in the 14th, 15th and 16th Congress.
He was the VP- Engineering/Administration of Solar Group of Companies from 2005-2007 and the current CEO Fonesite Enterprises.
He is also the Vice Chairman of Comittee of Reforestration and a member of Committee of Appropriation, Public Works, Energy, Social Services, Small Business & Entrepreneurship, Ways and Means, Public Information, and Science and Technology.

He is a former president of Talon Family Farm School and was Trustee and Vice Chairman of Pampamilyang Pampaaralang Agrikultura, Inc. and Oblates of the Most Holy Redeemer Inc. respectively.
He is also an advocate of Catechesis and Livelihood for Pilipino Poor Devotees in the Roman Catholic Church and Corporate Social Responsibility – Dignity of Work and of Workers, Alliance of Families Inc. – Family Values and Culture of Life, among others.

He was a full time missionary for Couples for Christ, Gawad Kalinga, CFC Youth for Christ, CFC Singles for Christ and CFC Kids for Family and Life 1997 and a messenger of faith, family and life to the youth around the globe.
He and his wife, Des, were chosen to represent the Philippines to the 10th International Youth Forum in the Vatican last 2010 as the only delegates from the Philippines, and one of the three couples asked to speak about life and family.
From 2007 to 2013, he actively focused on social media and even founded a start-up: FLiQ Media. He is the editor and writer of a couple of websites, such as Couples For Christ, Family and Life Update and his own website where he promotes good values to the world.
